So let's talk about the cart message app. This app walk is only available in the cart template. So here I am. I'm on the cart page and you can see I've added multiple one here, two here and three down here. instances of the cart message. Just to show you a little bit of the variety of what you can do.
You can play some above or below your shopping cart. and you can have more than one stacked up if you want to. Now, this is obviously cluttered. I would never have three messages on the cart, but I wanted a demo app for you. So now let's go into theme customization on to the cart template already and show you some of the functionality that we have here.
So if I scroll down to this, UPS warning one below, you can see I've got the the cart message added. Now, if you wanted to add it from scratch, you would, you know, click on add section and go to your apps and you would find the JP cart message one. And you add it in. I'm going to delete that one because we already got it added a few times.
Now the controls that you have on this are, you know, what is the title. And that's a UPS warning here. And you can have that be an H2. So larger text or an H3. And so here if I click on h3 the text the text size will go down. And it's using your theme settings for the font size.
The font weight and what font we're using. so you don't have to add extra settings for picking the right fonts and choosing the ones that your theme uses already. And then we have lots of color controls. We can change the, text color. We can also know we have hyperlinks in there. We can change the color of those and change the hover color of hyperlinks in the background color.
And also a border color. And I've got the border color turned off right now. And there's lots of different borders you can add. Let's add a solid line and let's make that two pixels. So you can see here we have is yellow with a darker yellow background for a little bit of contrast to make it stand out a little bit more.
And then we can also adjust the alignment of the text and the width of the box. So we can make this a wide box. to go full width on the screen we can make it a standard or we can make it a half. And in addition to that you can say, well, I want a maximum width of a certain amount of if your text is really small, you know, your text string is really short.
You don't want a big wide box for that. So right now we got two sets of 800, right? If we left it at the default 1200 for the standard with, you can see that that box is just way too large. So this allows you to adjust that box so it's sized more appropriately for the content that you have inside of it.
So there's your settings there. Now let's just look at another, block here. Now this one here is talking about holiday and we're on vacation. So in this situation we might want to have, you know, color scheme that matches the holiday instead of our brand guidelines. And that's what you see here. So let's just turn on our border.
And you can see we've got this, green red color scheme going on to make it feel more holiday ish. now, what you can also do is, you know, as you can see here, we've got more than one message shown inside of one out block. You're probably not going to show two at once. It's a bit of a cluttered experience, but what you can do is you can have multiple messages queued up as different, blocks and then just turn one off and then you can alternate between them.
So right now to turn off that one during our holiday time frame, we'll have this one on. And then when Holiday's over, we'll turn that one off without deleting it. Turn on the other message, whatever that one is. and then show that content in our cart. So that's how we can use the cart message app in our cart template in the flex theme.
